Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Brasilia (Brazil’s capital) on a 2-day visit to attend 11th BRICS Summit. Huge business delegations from all the BRICS countries are participating in the BRICS Business Forum which will be joined by all the BRICS leaders. BRICS Business Forum will enhance the business collaborations between BRICS countries and deepen the relations with the New Development Bank.
The theme of the Summit this year is “Economic Growth for an Innovative Future”. BRICS Institute of Future Network and a Women Business Alliance will also be launched this year. BRICS brings together five major economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa having 23% of the global GDP and around 17% of the share in world trade.

On November 14, ‘World Diabetes Day’ is celebrated to commemorate the birth day of Frederick Banting, the inventor of insulin. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2018 and 2019 is ‘The Family and Diabetes’.
The Day is raising awareness of the impact that diabetes has on the family and support network of those affected and promoting the role of the family in the management, care, prevention and education of diabetes. Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar either because of the inability of the body to produce enough insulin or the inability to respond to the insulin so produced.
