Atal Pension Yojana (APY), the flagship social security scheme of the government has completed five years of successful implementation. Launched on May 9, 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the APY aims at delivering old age income security particularly to the workers in the unorganised sector. As per official data, over these five the total enrolment under the APY scheme stood at 2,23,54,028.
APY can be subscribed by any Indian citizen in the age group of 18-40 years having a bank account. It provides a minimum guaranteed pension ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 on attaining 60 years of age. Secondly the amount of pension is guaranteed for lifetime to the spouse on death of the subscriber.
Rice Export Promotion Forum (REPF) has been set up by the Government of India to provide stimulus to the rice exports. The Rice Export Promotion Forum has been set up under the aegis of the Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Promotion Development Authority (Apeda).The REPF will make take collaborative steps to identify, document particulars and reach out to the stakeholders across the entire production/ supply chain of export of rice in order to enhance the exports remarkably to the global market. It will also monitor, identify and anticipate the developments related to production and exports and put forward various necessary policy measures.
The Rice Export Promotion Forum (REPF) will include representatives from the rice industry, officials from Apeda, exporters, Commerce Ministry, Agriculture Ministry and Directors of Agriculture from major rice producing states such as West Bengal, Punjab, Telangana, Haryana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has nominated Sandesh Jhingan and N Bala Devi for this year’s Arjuna Award. Arjuna Award is an honour bestowed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to recognise the achievement of athletes.
In January this year, Bala became the Indian woman professional footballer to play in Europe. She was signed by Scottish club Rangers for an 18-month deal. Also, Bala is the top scorer for the Indian women’s team, netting 52 goals in 58 appearances since 2010. A central directive of the survey is for customers to make their own, personal choices as to which airport they consider to be the best, underlining the brand as the Passenger’s Choice Awards.
