Union Government launches “National Test Abhyas”

The application will help the candidates to take mock tests for national exams

• Union Human Resource Development Ministry has launched a new mobile app named – the “National Test Abhyas”
• The App has been developed by National Testing Agency-NTA to enable candidates to take mock tests for upcoming exams such as JEE Main and NEET under the NTA’s purview

• The app has been developed by National Testing Agency-NTA to enable candidates to take mock tests for upcoming exams such as JEE Main and NEET under the NTA’s purview
• The app has been launched to facilitate candidates’ access to high quality mock tests as there was a demand for making up the loss to students due to closure of educational institutions and NTA’s Test-Practice Centers due to the lockdown
• The application is powered by Artificial Intelligence and therefore the students will get instant results after taking the tests
• The application also aims to help the candidates take high quality mock tests from their homes. It is currently available in Android and iOS versions
• The main aim of the application is to help students during closure of educational institutions
• The JEE Mains exam is to be conducted between July 18 and July 23 and the NEET exam is to be conducted on July 26. Thus, the application will help the will help the students at larger level

Accessibility of “National Test Abhyas”

• Students can access the National Test Abhyas app on Android device. To access it on Android device, students can go to the Google Play Store and search for the National Test Abhyas app
• As the app name or logo appears on the screen, clicking on “Install” and download the Application
• Students can log into the National Test Abhyas app with username and password which was used while signing up. The username refers to email or phone number and must be entered as name@email.com or 9811xxxxxx
• Currently JEE Mains and NEET full syllabus tests are available on National Test Abhyas app
• The National Test Abhyas App allows test taking without the internet connectivity in offline mode on device in the following manner.
• 1. Log into the National Test Abhyas app. (Internet is needed)
• 2. Click on the ‘Download’ button next to the test you wish to attempt. (Internet is needed)
• 3. Students can attempt the downloaded test in offline mode (Internet is not needed)
• 4. After test is complete – please connect to internet to synch your test with server

What is “National Testing Agency (NTA)”?

• It is an Indian government agency that has been approved by the Union Council of Ministers and established in November 2017 to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions
• The government appointed Vineet Joshi as the first Director-General of the agency
  NTA is responsible for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG), National Eligibility Test (NET), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT)
• The NTA will be chaired by an eminent educationist who will be appointed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development
• There will be a Board of Governors comprising members from user institutions
• The CEO will be Director General (DG) appointed by Government and will be assisted by 9 verticals of academicians and experts
