The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved additional investment of USD 121.27 million by ONGC Videsh Ltd for further development of Block A-1 and A-3 blocks in Myanmar. The CCEA, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the additional investment for the Shwe oil and gas project in Myanmar blocks, an official statement said.
OVL, the overseas arm of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), had picked up a stake in the Shwe Project in Myanmar in 2002. The firm has invested USD 722 million in the project till March 31, 2019. The first gas from the Shwe Project was received in July 2013 and plateau production was reached in December 2014. The project has been generating positive cash flows since FY 2014-15, it said.
MSMEs Minister Nitin Gadkari has launched funding scheme to help the distressed MSME sector. The scheme is titled as Credit Guarantee Scheme for Sub-ordinate Debt (CGSSD) or Distressed Assets Fund–Sub-ordinate Debt for MSMEs. It will provide Rs. 20,000 crores of guarantee cover to stressed or NPA MSMEs. MSMEs promotors will be given 15% credit or Rs 75 lakh as per the stake to infuse and enhance debt-equity ratio

Union Cabinet has approved six-month extension to Other Backward Classes commission to examine sub-categorisation of OBC in Central list. With this, the panel can submit its report till January 2021.The commission is headed by retired Delhi High Court Chief Justice G. Rohini. OBC commission was appointed in October 2017 under article 340 and have received several extensions. It was working on the issues of communities that were not getting the benefits of reservation.
