The winners of Swachh Survekshan 2020 survey of India has been announced. Indore is India’s cleanest city in Swachh Survekshan 2020, the fifth edition of the annual cleanliness survey of the country. A total of 1.9 crore citizens across 4,242 cities of the country participated in the survey.Interestingly, the city has bagged the spot fourth time in a row. Gujarat’s Surat on second spot and Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai on third. For the fourth consecutive time, Indore, Madhya Pradesh bagged the cleanest city in the country. It was followed by Surat of Gujarat and Navi Mumbai of Maharashtra. Varanasi bagged the best “Ganga Town” in the survey. Mysuru won the award of cleanest city in India. The survey was held by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The Bureau of Labor is an apex national level organization under the Ministry of Labor, involved in labor statistics, research and training. The new logo represents its three goals of statistical nature and accuracy, validity and reliability.
The logo of Labour Bureau also comprises of “Blue wheel”, a cog wheel that represents work. The blue colour indicates that the Labour Bureau deals with the blue collar workers. It also includes a “tricolored graph” that matches the colors of the National flag. It also has “wheat ears” which indicates the fruit of rural agricultural labour. Labour Bureau is an attached office of Ministry of Labour and Employment and is engaged in collection, compilation, analysis as well as distribution of statistics on different facets of labour at All India level.
A turtle born with a golden shell has been discovered in Nepal. This color is due to a very rare genetic mutation (mutation) that changes its pigmentation. An official of the Toxicology Association of Nepal said that this is the first and only fifth case of ‘chromatic lucism’ in this turtle in Nepal. Wildlife expert Kamal Devkota said that this turtle has religious and cultural significance in Nepal.

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda has launched tertiary processing centers of the Virtual Trifood Project. This is an initiative initiated by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Food Processing (MoFPI). The minister launched the project at Raigad in Maharashtra and Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh. “Trifood Project” is being implemented by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs in association with Ministry of Food Processing (MoFPI). TRIFOOD seeks to improve the income of tribals with the help of better utilization of Minor Forest Produce (MFPs) collected by the tribal forest gatherers. Two Minor Forest Produce (MFP) processing units will be set up in order to achieve the targets of the “Trifood Project”.

Google has rolled out employment application titled as ‘Kormo Jobs’ to help millions of Indians to get entry-level jobs. It will be beneficial for young professionals and those who have lost their jobs during the pandemic. Google had first launched the employment application in Bangladesh in 2018 and further expanded it to Indonesia in 2019. In 2019, Google had also tested this app in India but under the brand ‘Spot’ on Google Pay app, which saw more than 2 million verified jobs posted on the platform, including from companies like Zomato and Dunzo. After receiving a positive response, Google is now rebranding the Jobs Spot on Google Pay as Kormo Jobs in India and making it a standalone Android app.
