Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan – Special Story

Highly-anticipated event that marks the beginning of the construction of the temple

• The “Bhoomi Pujan” and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed Ram Mandir in
  Ayodhya is scheduled on August 5, at 12:40 PM
• The highly-anticipated „bhoomi pujan‟, to be conducted by priests, will begin at 12:30 pm and
  the foundation stone will be laid by PM Modi at 12:40 pm
• Other than the PM, sages, seers, leaders who took an active part in the Ram Mandir movement
  and political dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony
• India has shown how the 500-year-old dispute has been resolved peacefully

Significance and Eventual Pujan

• Thousands of years ago for lakhs and crores of Hindus when Lord Ram had returned home to
  Ayodhya after a 14-year exile, as per the epic Ramayana
• The holy town, believed to be the birthplace of widely worshipped Hindu deity, is believed to
  have been decked up with earthen lamps to celebrate his homecoming
• The highly-anticipated event that marks the beginning of the construction of the temple will be
  celebrated on the lines of Deepawali which, in some parts of the country, marks Lord Ram‟s return
  to Ayodhya
• Around 175 people, including several top leaders, and saints and sages from across the country
  as well as Nepal will take part in the program
• The ground-breaking ceremony of the temple is scheduled to begin from 11 am and conclude at
  2 pm and the Guests will have to reach the venue two hours ahead of the program

Planting a Parijaat tree on Ram Janmabhoomi temple premises

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will plant a Parijaat tree on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple
  premises when he comes here for the Bhumi Pujan ceremony
• “Parijaat is considered as a divine tree. It is in Barabanki district and thousands of years old
• Many scientists have researched and agreed that there is no tree like this one but there are
  some nurseries which have the saplings of the tree

Mythology and Science of “Parijaat tree”

• Explaining the mythology – “Maharishi Narad had presented the flower of Parijaat to
  Dwarikadhish from heaven which he later gifted to Rukmani following which Satyabhama sulked
• So, Dwarikadhish went to heaven and fought with lord Indra and brought the tree to Dwarika
• It is a sacred baobab tree in the village of Kintoor, near Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, about which
  there are several legends
• The tree is known as baobab in modern science which is originated in Sub-sahara Africa and
  hence its presence in the fertile land of India makes it rare
• Also the age of the tree is still not determined, which makes it quite possible that the tree may
  have been planted by someone who used to travel between India and Africa
• The tree needs international attention of scientists to find out more about it. The tree is also
  known as ‘the tree from paradise’ due to its mythological significance

COVID recovered circle and Event security

• UP police have decided to deploy around 4,000 COVID-19 negative cops below 45 years of age
  during PM‟s visit in Ayodhya
• Moreover, a special team of health and sanitary officials also reached Ayodhya on Saturday to
  ensure the arrangement for the ceremony in compliance with COVID-19 protocol
• All the senior-most officials of UP police and administration including the DGP and Chief
  Secretary were in Ayodhya to review the security and other arrangements
• Only COVID-19 negative police personnel below 45 years of age will be deployed during Prime
  Minister Narendra Modi and other VVIPs visit to Ayodhya
• Over 300 police personnel, who were younger and had tested negative for COVID-19 infection,
  were handpicked for VVIP security
• Around 10 companies of the provincial armed constabulary (PAC) and the Central armed police
  force (CAPF) will also be deployed
• The security arrangements will include sealing the district borders and curbing traffic
  movement. Over 75 barriers will be installed inside the town area
• The entire „Panch Kosi‟ parikrama area (the five-kilometre radius of the Ram Janmabhoomi) will
  be sealed
• Total restrictions will be enforced on roads entering Ayodhya town
• Besides the team of health officials, over half a dozen special sanitization teams from Lucknow
  have already reached Ayodhya to start sanitization of the Ram Janmabhoomi premises on a daily
  basis till August 5

Bhoomi Pujan materials

• The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam in neighbouring Kancheepuram has sent gold and silver coins,
  holy soil collected from the Kamakshi temple and the mutt
• Besides Vasthu (traditional Indian system of architecture) materials to be used in the Bhoomi
  pujan for constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya
• The soil specially obtained from the temples like Ekambranathar Swamy, Kamakshi and other
  Vishnu temples in the town had been sent by flight to Ayodhya ahead of the Bhumi pujan
• This temple will strengthen peace and humanity in country
