Kotak Mahindra Bank is all set to allow video Know your customer (KYC) facility for all the customers opening savings accounts on the banks digital banking platform ‘Kotak 811’.After this, it becomes 1st bank in India to provide such feature. The facility is presently being launched on a pilot basis for savings accounts. Verification of documents, and signature will be done through video call by a representative from the bank.

The Chhattisgarh government launched the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojna, by transferring Rs 1,500 crore into the accounts of more than 18,000 farmers. This was the first installment of a Rs 5,750-crore scheme, meant to benefit farmers sowing 14 types of crops. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, based on registered area and area under cultivation during Kharif crop season 2019, Rs 10,000 per acre will be deposited in the bank accounts of farmers as agriculture assistance grant for sowing crops such as paddy, maize and sugarcane. The scheme was inaugurated through video conferencing on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The scheme aims to ensure minimum income availability to farmers growing one rabi and 13 kharif season crops in the state.
‘Uttar Pradesh Startup Fund’ has been launched by Uttar Pradesh government to encourage the youth of the state for entrepreneurship. This fund can be called as MoU between UP govt and SIDBI. First installment of 15 crore rupees has been provided by CM to Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). This will help the state in job creation, and skills among the youth.
Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) has been approved by the cabinet with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. The yojana aims to bring about Blue Revolution through sustainable and responsible development of fishery sector. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) said its researchers have discovered new ways that can help prevent or reduce short-term memory losses associated with the Alzheimers disease. The research team explored new ways to prevent the accumulation of neurotoxic molecules in the brain that are associated with short-term memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease. They reported some methods such as the application of low-voltage electric field and the use of ‘trojan peptides’ to arrest aggregation of neurotoxic molecules in the brain.
