Manolo Marquez appointed head coach of Indian men’s football team.
On July 20, the appointment of Spaniard Manolo Marquez as the head coach of the Indian men’s football team was announced by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
Currently, Marquez is the head coach of Indian Super League (ISL) team FC Goa.
Through the 2024-25 season, Mr. Marquez will continue in his role as the first-team Head Coach at FC Goa, handling both responsibilities simultaneously before assuming the national coaching role on a full-time basis.
Since 2020, Marquez has been coaching in India.
He has coached two ISL clubs – his first stint was with Hyderabad FC (2020–23) before he moved to FC Goa (2023-present).
In 2021–22, he is the ISL Cup winner with Hyderabad FC.
