Chief Minister of Odisha has launched ‘Ekamra Project’ for the redevelopment of the 11th century Lingaraj Temple

As part of his government’s effort to develop ancient temples, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of the Rs 280-crore Ekamra project for the development of areas around the 11th-century Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar.
Under the Ekamra Kshetra (ancient name for Bhubaneswar) Amenities and Monuments Renovation Action (EKAMRA) scheme launched in 2019, the Naveen Patnaik government plans to develop around 80 acres of land around the ancient temple of Lord Shiva.
