Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated a new runway and a dual-lane elevated taxiway at the New Delhi International Airport.
With this, New Delhi’s IGI Airport has become the first airport in the country to have four runways. Not only this, it has become the first airport in the country to have an elevated taxiway.
During the inaugural programme, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Road Transport and Highways Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman, Airports Authority of India and Group Chairman, GMR Shri G.K. M. Rao was also present.
