Iran has formally become a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while presiding over the SCO summit, extended his best wishes to Iran.
Till now SCO consisted of eight member states, which include China, Russia, India, Pakistan and four Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was formed in the year 2001 with six member countries. India became its member in the year 2017.
