Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court directed the Goa government to declare the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary and other areas mentioned in the plans prepared by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and the Goa Forest Department as tiger reserves under wildlife protection. The Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary located in Goa is known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Spread over an area of 208.5 square kilometres, this sanctuary is a precious gem in the Western Ghats of South India. It is located near Valpoi town in Sattari taluka, North Goa district. With its diverse range of flora and fauna, this sanctuary has gained recognition for its ecological importance.
