- The ‘Bharat Mandapam’ complex, built at a cost of approximately US$329.17 million (Rs 2,700 crore), serves as a national project aimed at showcasing India as a global economic destination.
Concept of ‘Bharat Mandapam’
- The name of the complex, ‘Bharat Mandapam’, takes inspiration from the idea of Lord Basaveshwara’s Anubhava Mandapam, a pavilion for public festivals.
- The convention centre aims to remain open to the public and provide all the necessary facilities to contribute to the development of India as a modern nation.
