Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated wildlife friendly highway projects in Chhattisgarh.
PM Modi inaugurated the construction of three National Highway projects for the Chhattisgarh section of the 6-lane greenfield Raipur-Visakhapatnam corridor.
This project will pass through the Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary area.
A notable feature of these projects is the inclusion of a 2.8 km long, 6-lane tunnel with 27 animal crossings and 17 monkey shelters in the Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary area, allowing unrestricted movement of wildlife.
The Delhi – Dehradun Economic Corridor where PM Modi laid the foundation stone in December 2021 is an example of this strategy. Largest high altitude wildlife corridor in entire Asia with a length of 12 km
