Gehlot announced plans to revive the Ramgarh Dam through the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project, expand the Annapurna Ration Kit scheme, enhance the Chiranjeevi Jeevan Rakshak Yojana, introduce the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana, and honor the Rajasthan Police Force with the “Rajasthan Police Panchsati Medal.” The announcement also included a fundamental shift in the promotion process within the police department, emphasizing a time-bound Departmental Promotion Committee approach.The Ramgarh Dam holds significance for Jaipur’s identity due to its vital role in the region’s water supply. It is also linked to the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project aimed at revitalizing the dam and developing a comprehensive drinking water scheme for districts like Jaipur and Alwar.
Expansion of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project benefit farmers
- The expansion of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project involves the addition of 53 dams across various districts, benefiting around 11 lakh farmers in 13 assembly constituencies. This expansion is supported by a budget increase of Rs 1665 crore.
Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana
- The Indira Gandhi Smartphone Yojana aims to bridge the digital divide and promote gender equality by providing smartphones to 40 lakh girls and women in its initial phase.
