British-Indian author Chetna Maru’s debut novel ‘Western Lane’ has been shortlisted for the 2023 Booker Prize. The selection was made from a total of 163 books published between October 2022 and September 2023.
It includes books from four continents, four Irish authors, four debut novelists, as well as 10 authors who have been recognized with the Booker Prize for the first time.
The list will be divided into a shortlist of six books, which will be announced on 21 September.
The final 2023 Booker Prize winner will be announced at an award ceremony in London on 26 November.
