An Indian Prime Minister has visited Greece after a long gap of 40 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded The Grand Cross of the Order of Honor by the PM of Greece. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the press after holding bilateral talks with PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece. During this, PM Modi said that Greece and India are a natural match between two ancient civilizations of the world, two ancient democratic ideologies and two ancient trade and cultural relations. The foundation of our relationship is ancient and strong.

Mutual cooperation in the field of terrorism-cyber security and agriculture

  • PM Modi and the PM of Greece have signed an agreement for cooperation in the agriculture sector. In the area of defense and security, both countries have agreed to strengthen military ties as well as strengthen the defense industry.

Bilateral trade growing rapidly

  • We have decided to double our bilateral trade by 2030.

Greece’s cooperation in international forums

  • To facilitate efficient migration, it has been decided to enter into a Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement soon.
  • Greece expressed its support for the India-EU Trade and Investment Agreement.
  • Both countries have supported diplomacy and dialogue on the Ukraine issue.
  • The Indian PM thanked the Greek PM for Greece’s cooperation at the United Nations and other international fora.
