United World Wrestling suspends Wrestling Association of India

United World Wrestling (WFI) has been suspended for not holding the Wrestling Association elections on time.
Due to which Indian wrestlers will not be allowed to compete in the upcoming World Championships under the Indian flag.
The IOA had appointed a panel on April 27 and the committee had to conduct elections within 45 days.
The Wrestling Federation of India is the governing body of wrestling in India. Its headquarter is in New Delhi, India.
In 2015, the Wrestling Federation of India established the Pro Wrestling League tournament to promote wrestling.
It consisted of six teams representing six cities across India, consisting of 11 players from both domestic and international.
There are five weight categories for men (57 kg. 65 kg. 74 kg. 97 kg. 125 kg.) and four weight categories for women (49 kg. 53 kg. 58 kg. 69 kg.).
