- During the shootouts, Sanjay, Deepak, and Abhishek scored for Haryana while Harmanpreet Singh, Simranjeet Singh, and Sukhjeet Singh scored for Punjab.
- Tamil Nadu won the bronze medal after defeating Karnataka in penalty shootouts.
- It was first held in 1928 under the aegis of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF).
- The Senior National Hockey Championship is a state-level national field hockey competition.
