IIT Guwahati has developed a 3D-printed dummy ballot unit.
The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation of Kamrup Election District has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati to develop an inventive 3D-printed dummy ballot unit.
The 3D-printed dummy ballot unit’s main objective is to inform citizens, mainly first-time voters and senior citizens, about the voting process.
This dummy ballot unit was created using 3D printing technology and PLA, a biodegradable material derived from corn starch.
It was created by researchers at IIT Guwahati in merely 48 hours.
The dummy ballot seeks maximum voter participation by offering a practical experience.
It has unique interactive elements such as sound and light output indicators to assist users during the voting process.
