  • After the age of 80, central government pensioners will get an additional compassionate pension.
  • Central government pensioners 80 years of age and older would be eligible for an additional income known as the compassionate allowance, according to a recent announcement by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW).
  • Retirees of the central government civil service who become 80 years old can now obtain these additional payments according to new guidelines.

The following is how the additional compassionate allowance will be paid

  • 20% of the basic pension or compassionate allowance will be paid to people aged 80 to 85.
  • Between the ages of 85 and 90, 30% of the basic pension or compassionate allowance will be paid.
  • Between the ages of 90 and 95, 40% of the basic pension or compassionate allowance will be paid.
  • 50% of the basic pension or compassionate allowance will be paid to people aged 95 to 100.
  • One hundred years or more: 100% of the compassionate allowance or basic pension.
  • The first day of the month that the pensioner achieves the specified age will mark the start of the supplementary pension or compassionate allowance.
