- The festival is named after the Me’gong flower. This flower blooms in large quantities in the Garo Hills.
- The festival celebrates Garo culture, which include folk dances, indigenous games, music, handloom and handicrafts, and authentic cuisine.
- The aim of the event is to unite local communities, artists, tourists and artisans and to promote cross-cultural dialogue.
- The festival is likely to attract more than 2 lakh attendees.
