The country’s first elevated cross taxiway (ECT) service has been started at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
With its help, the operational efficiency of the airport will increase and it will also help in reducing carbon emissions.
This dual lane ECT service is of 2.1 km which will connect the northern and southern airfields of the airport.
Indira Gandhi International Airport is the main international airport of Delhi, the capital of India and the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
It is located approximately 16 km (10 mi) south-west of New Delhi city centre.
Named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, it is the busiest airport in India.
The airport has become the largest and most important business aviation hub in India as well as the whole of South Asia with a passenger capacity of 46 million after the commissioning of its newest Terminal 3 and an estimated passenger capacity of 100 million by the year 2030.
