The Ministry of Culture set up a web-based virtual museum at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad to tell the story of the liberation movement and other immersive experiences at the National Museum.

Museum Grant Scheme

  • This scheme was started in 2013.
  • The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance for establishment of new museums, strengthening and modernization of existing museums, digitization of art objects in museums across the country, capacity building of museum professionals.

This scheme has 3 components

  1. Development and establishment of museums at regional, state and district levels.
  2. Digitization of museum collections
  3. Capacity building and training of museum professionals
