- In a historic move, Kuwaiti Radio will broadcast programs in Hindi language from 8:30 to 9:00 pm every Sunday from 21 April 2024.
- The Hindi program is being broadcast on FM 93.3 and AM 96.3.
- Hindi broadcasting by Kuwaiti Radio will promote cultural exchange and strengthen relations between the two countries.
India Kuwait Relationship
- India established diplomatic relations with Kuwait in 1962 after Kuwait gained Independence from Britain in 1961. Until 1961, the Indian Rupee was the legal tender in Kuwait.
- Kuwait is an oil-rich country and a reliable supplier of crude petroleum oil and LPG to India. Indian professionals like doctors, engineers, scientists, chartered accountants, etc as well as unskilled and semi-skilled workers, are present in Kuwait.
