- SJVN Limited launched India’s first Green Hydrogen Pilot Project at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) in Jhakri, Himachal Pradesh.
- SJVN achieved a milestone by inaugurating India’s first multi-purpose green hydrogen pilot project at the company’s 1,500 MW NJHPS.
Uses of Green Hydrogen
- The green hydrogen from the project will fuel NJHPS’s High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coating facility.
- Along with this, it will also generate electricity through a fuel cell of 25 kilowatt capacity.
First multipurpose green hydrogen production plant inaugurated
- This country’s first multipurpose green hydrogen production plant was inaugurated by Geeta Kapur, Chairperson and Managing Director of SJVN on April 24, 2024.
- In line with the National Green Hydrogen Mission of the Government of India, this Green Hydrogen Pilot Project of SJVN will accelerate the development of green hydrogen production infrastructure in the power sector. Along with this, green hydrogen is being established as a clean energy source.
