King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia has appointed Hun Manet, the son of former Prime Minister Hun Sen, as the new Prime Minister of the country.
Dr. Hun Manet was appointed Prime Minister of Cambodia for the 7th mandate of the Parliament by issuing a royal decree by the King. During the Cambodian elections 2023, the Cambodian People’s Party of Hun Sen’s party won a major victory.
Cambodia, formerly known as Kampuchea, is a major country in Southeast Asia. Phnom Penh is the largest city and capital of this monarchical country.
Cambodia emerged from the once powerful Hindu and Buddhist Khmer Empire, which ruled the entire Indochina region between the 11th and 14th centuries.
Cambodia is bordered by Thailand to the west and northwest, Laos and Vietnam to the east and northeast, and the Gulf of Thailand to the south. Mekong River is the main water stream flowing here.
