  • Vegetarian Day is an occasion to promote the benefits of a vegetarian diet and vegetarianism in general.
  • The day was established in 1994 in the United Kingdom by Louise Wallis, then president of The Vegan Society, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the organization’s founding and the coining of the terms “vegan” and “veganism.”
