  • A new world record has been created by organizing the largest simultaneous lighting of lamps at one place in the seventh Deepotsav in Ayodhya, in which more than 22 lakh lamps were lit on the banks of river Saryu.
  • The banks of Saryu river in Ayodhya were illuminated with more than 22 lakh lamps during the seventh edition of Deepotsav, creating a new world record for the largest number of lamps lit simultaneously at one place.
  • More than 22 lakh ‘diyas’ (earthen lamps) were lit by 25,000 volunteers at 51 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi along the river, which is 6.47 lakh more than last year.
  • Guinness Book of World Records representatives, using drones to count the lamps, officially recognized Ayodhya’s achievement, leaving the city echoing with triumphant slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
