- CSIR has launched a unique ‘One Week One Lab’ (OWOL) program with the objective of uniquely showcasing the scientific and technological linkages of the laboratories at various levels of the society.
- It was launched by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, who is also the Vice Chairman, CSIR.
- A week long ‘One Week One Lab’ preview program for CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Kolkata was organized at the Institute.
- The chief guest of the event was Dr. Ranjan Sen, Director, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.

- Although it is financially managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, yet it is an autonomous body.
