¨ Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated the 47th Raising Day of
'Project Chetak' in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
¨ On this occasion, the project's service spanning over four decades in
the strategically sensitive western border regions was highlighted.
¨
The Ministry of Defence stated that this project was established in the
year 1980.
¨ It has played a pivotal role in the construction and maintenance of
infrastructure across Rajasthan, Punjab, and Northern Gujarat.
¨
The developed infrastructure has led to improved connectivity in the
border areas.
¨ With the motto "Chetak ka Prayas, Desh ka Vikas," the project
embodies a development-oriented mission.
¨ In terms of geographical expanse, 'Project Chetak' stands as one of the
largest initiatives undertaken by the BRO.
¨ Under this project, a road network spanning over 4,000 kilometers has
been constructed and maintained.
¨ The project has also developed 'ditch-cum-bund' structures extending
approximately 214 kilometers in length.
¨ It provides vital road connectivity, thereby extending support to the
defense forces deployed in close proximity to the international border.
