History of the International Day of Forests

¨  The United Nations General Assembly declared March 21 as the International Day of Forests in 2012.

¨     It was observed for the first time in 2013.

¨     It is celebrated in coordination with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
