¨
Rajasthan is set to add a
major attraction to its wildlife tourism with a new biological park coming up
in Alwar.
¨
Planned in the scenic
Kati Ghati area, this park will combine wildlife conservation, animal care and
tourism in one place.
¨
Once completed, it will
become the first biological park of its kind in the National Capital Region
(NCR), offering safaris, a rescue centre and a modern veterinary hospital.
Location and Size of Alwar
Biological Park
¨
The proposed biological
park will be developed between Kati Ghati and Jaisamand in Alwar district. It
will spread across nearly 100 hectares of land.
¨
Around 30 percent of the
area will be used as a zoo for animals, while the remaining 70 percent will be
kept as green space to maintain a natural environment.
Home to Over 400 Wild
Animals
¨
The Alwar Biological Park
will house more than 400 wild animals belonging to 81 different species.
Visitors will be able to see rare and popular animals such as lions, cheetahs
and several types of tigers found in India.
¨
Giraffes brought from
Africa will also be a major attraction, making the park unique in the region.
