Sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha to return to India after seven-day exhibition

¨     The sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha are set to return to India after a seven-day public display in Colombo.

¨     The relics were displayed at the famous Gangaramaya Temple.

¨     This was the first time the Devnimori relics were taken abroad for an international exhibition.

¨     A senior Indian delegation is overseeing their return journey.

¨     The delegation is led by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.

¨     Senior Buddhist monks and government officials are also returning to India with the relics.

¨     Thousands of devotees from across Sri Lanka visited and prayed at the temple during the week-long event.

¨     The exhibition was considered an important spiritual and cultural occasion.

¨     Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake formally inaugurated the exhibition.

¨     Sri Lankan leaders described the visit of the relics as a blessing for the nation.

¨     They also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India.

¨     This event further strengthened the long-standing religious and civilizational ties between India and Sri Lanka.

¨   The event also highlighted India's role in the preservation and promotion of global Buddhist heritage.

¨     Devnimori is a Buddhist archaeological site in northern Gujarat.
