¨     18th Urban Mobility India Conference inaugurated in Gurugram.

¨     On 7 November, the 18th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Exhibition was inaugurated by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal in Gurugram, Haryana.

¨     The three-day event, organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs through the Institute of Urban Transport (India), is being organised in collaboration with the Government of Haryana and Gurugram Metro Rail Limited.

¨     The theme for this year is “Urban Development and Mobility Nexus”.

¨     The conference aims to explore integrated planning and sustainable transport solutions to enhance urban mobility in Indian cities.

¨     The conference will feature 8 technical sessions, 8 roundtables and 2 plenaries.

¨     The focus of the conference is on creating an equitable and sustainable transport system in line with the objectives of the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP), 2006.

¨     The conference also aims to identify practical and scalable mobility solutions that can reduce travel time and costs for urban residents.
