¨     A long-term agreement has been signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Aircraft Engines.

¨     The agreement aims to manufacture and supply superalloy turbine ring forgings for the CFM LEAP engine program.

¨     These components will be manufactured at HAL's ring rolling facility located within its Foundry and Forge Division in Bengaluru.

¨     This agreement will strengthen India's aerospace manufacturing capabilities and its participation in the global supply chain.

¨     HAL was established in 1964 through the merger of various aviation companies.

¨     Safran Aircraft Engines is a major French aircraft engine manufacturer and a subsidiary of the Safran Group.

¨     The CFM LEAP is a high-bypass turbofan engine used in narrow-body commercial aircraft.

¨     CFM International is a joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace, renowned for the LEAP and CFM56 engine families.

¨     Superalloy turbine ring forgings are used in the high-temperature sections of aero-engines, offering high strength, heat resistance, and durability.
