¨     Amul has started work on an integrated dairy project at Howrah Food Park, Sankrail (Howrah district), West Bengal.

¨     The project will include the world's largest curd manufacturing facility.

¨     The foundation stone was laid at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, New Town, Kolkata.

¨     The project involves an investment of around ₹700 crore.

¨     Once fully operational, the plant will have a milk processing capacity of 30 lakh litres per day.

¨     It will produce 1,000 metric tonnes of curd and other cultured dairy products per day.

¨     The facility will function as a multi-product dairy plant, producing curd, paneer, ghee, sweets, flavoured milk, and ice cream.

¨     The integrated dairy plant will combine milk reception, pasteurisation, processing, packaging, and cold-chain management within a single facility.

¨     Amul is the brand of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), one of India's largest dairy cooperative networks.

¨     Dairy cooperatives in India connect milk producers with collection centres, processing plants, and marketing systems for value-added dairy products.
