Andhra Pradesh launched
the Mee Bhoomi–Blockchain pilot project on 23 July 2026 for digital land record
management.
¨
The project uses
blockchain technology to create a tamper-proof platform for land records.
¨
It integrates land
records from the Revenue Department, Survey Department, and Registration Department.
¨
Blockchain is a
distributed digital ledger in which records are stored in linked blocks and
secured using cryptography.
¨
In land administration,
blockchain assigns a unique digital identity to each land parcel and records
transactions in a permanent and secure ledger.
¨
The pilot was jointly
developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Andhra Pradesh, and the
Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology, NIC Bengaluru.
¨
The platform is built on
Hyperledger Fabric, an enterprise blockchain framework designed for
permissioned networks and authenticated data sharing.
¨
The system automatically
halts land transactions if discrepancies are detected in land records.
¨
Changes to land records
can be made only through authorized online services.
The pilot is being implemented in seven
mandals across seven districts:

(Kurnool)

Penumuru (Chittoor)

Repalle (Bapatla)
4.
Gannavaram (Krishna)
5.
Kadiyam (East Godavari)
6.
Gummalakshmipuram
(Parvathipuram Manyam)
7. Kothavalasa
(Vizianagaram)
The first phase covers 89 re-survey villages and
1,37,763 land parcel maps.Initially, the platform will provide eight citizen
services.Key services include auto-mutation, subdivision of land parcels, and
extent correction.
