Andhra Pradesh’s First Project under Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024

¨     Andhra Pradesh is set to commission its first project under the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 on 22 May 2026.

¨     The project is located in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.

¨     It is a 600 MW solar power plant developed by SAEL Industries.

¨     The project involves an investment of ₹3,000 crore.

¨     The Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 aims to attract investments worth around ₹10 lakh crore.

¨     The policy targets adding more than 160 GW of renewable energy capacity.

¨     It covers solar power, wind power, pumped storage, and renewable energy manufacturing.

¨     ReNew Energy Global Plc will lay the foundation stone for a ₹5,400 crore solar manufacturing facility in Anakapalli district on 23 April 2026.

¨     The facility is planned as a 6 GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing unit.

¨     The government of Andhra Pradesh approved the allocation of the 2,250 MW Gandikota-2 pumped storage project in YSR Kadapa district.

¨     The project was allocated to Adani Hydro Energy Eleven Ltd. on 20 May 2026.

¨     The project has a completion timeline of 72 months.

¨     Andhra Pradesh introduced the Resource Adequacy Regulations 2026 in March 2026.

¨     These regulations focus on long-term power planning and generation capacity planning.

¨     The framework aims to support a power system with an increasing share of renewable energy.
