Balendra Shah sworn in as Nepal’s Youngest Democratically elected Prime Minister

¨     Balendra Shah, the parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been sworn in as the youngest democratically elected Prime Minister of Nepal.

¨   The oath of office and secrecy has been administered by Ramchandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas.

¨     The appointment has been made following his election as the parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

¨     He became the 47th Prime Minister under Article 76(1) of the Constitution.

¨     The party secured a near two-thirds majority in the recently concluded parliamentary elections.

¨     His elevation marks a significant political shift driven by youth-led support.

¨  He is the first democratically elected Prime Minister after the ousting of the previous government.

¨  The earlier government led by K P Sharma Oli was removed following protests against corruption and governance issues.
