¨     Banwarilal Purohit was unanimously elected President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

¨     The election took place at a joint meeting of the institution’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees.

¨     On the same day, Deepak Parekh was elected Vice-President of the institution.

¨     Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is a leading Indian educational and cultural organization.

¨     It was founded in 1938 in Mumbai by K. M. Munshi.

¨     The institution operates schools, colleges, and cultural centres across India and abroad.

¨     The President is the head of the organization’s governance structure.

¨     The Vice-President forms part of its senior leadership.

¨    Prior to the election, Surendralal Mehta resigned from the post of President due to health reasons.

¨     His resignation was submitted before the election held on 7 June 2026.

¨     The election marks an important leadership transition for Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
