Bengaluru, Karnataka ranked second in Asia among AI-native startup clusters in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2026, after Beijing

¨     Bengaluru, Karnataka ranked second in Asia among AI-native startup clusters in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2026, after Beijing.

¨     The report also ranked Bengaluru 15th among the top 40 global startup ecosystems.

¨     Bengaluru’s startup ecosystem value was estimated at US$153 billion.

¨     The Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2026 was launched on 17 June 2026 at VivaTech in Paris.

¨     In the report, Bengaluru scored 8/10 in the AI-native Cluster Factor, 9/10 in Performance & R&D, and 7/10 in Funding & Market Reach.

¨     As of 17 June 2026, Bengaluru had 30 unicorn startups, compared with the global average of 11 unicorns per city.

¨     Between 2021 and 2025, Bengaluru’s startup ecosystem attracted US$39 billion in venture capital funding.

¨     Bengaluru is recognised as the world’s second-largest AI talent hub, with around 600,000 AI and machine learning professionals.

¨     As of 10 January 2026, Bengaluru had 606 AI-native startups, of which 239 had received funding.
