Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited signed a contract with Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise in Nigeria

¨     Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) signed a contract on 2 June 2026 with Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise in Nigeria.

¨     The estimated value of the project is ₹2,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore (approximately USD 240–300 million).

¨     The contract covers the design, manufacturing, supply, erection supervision, and commissioning supervision of eight gas turbine generator packages.

¨     These packages are intended for a petroleum refinery and a polypropylene plant in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Nigeria.

¨     The order was awarded through an international competitive bidding process.

¨     Civil works are excluded from the contract.

¨     Supply will be delivered up to Mumbai Port, along with performance guarantee testing.

¨     BHEL is a public sector engineering and manufacturing company in India.

¨     It supplies power plant equipment, industrial systems, and heavy electrical machinery.

¨     The company has executed export orders in thermal, hydro, and industrial sectors across several international markets.

¨     A petroleum refinery processes crude oil into products such as petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation turbine fuel.

¨   A polypropylene plant produces polypropylene, a thermoplastic polymer used in packaging, textiles, automotive components, and industrial applications.

¨  Gas turbine generator packages are used for captive power generation in industrial facilities and refineries.

¨ These systems combine a gas turbine, generator, and control systems for electricity production.
