Chief Justice of India Surya Kant constituted the Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee

¨     Chief Justice of India Surya Kant constituted the Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee on 12–13 May 2026.

¨     The committee has been formed to prepare a nationwide roadmap for court infrastructure.

¨     It will deal with judicial administration, court facilities, computerisation, and financial planning for judicial infrastructure across India.

¨     The committee is chaired by Supreme Court judge Aravind Kumar.

¨     Members of the committee include Debangsu Basak.

¨     Ashwani Kumar Mishra is also a member of the committee.

¨     Somasekhar Sundaresan has also been included in the panel.

¨     The Director General of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is a member of the committee.

¨     The Secretary General of the Supreme Court of India will serve as the Member Secretary of the committee.

¨     The committee has been tasked with identifying gaps in judicial infrastructure.

¨     It will recommend facilities for judges, lawyers, litigants, and court staff.

¨     The committee will also examine the computerisation of courts.

¨     It aims to reduce the digital divide in access to courts.

¨     The panel will propose citizen-centric digital services for the judiciary.
