¨     Delhi Government has approved the implementation of the Parivartan Scheme.

¨     The Parivartan Scheme is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

¨     The scheme aims to replace BS-IV and older commercial vehicles with BS-VI or electric vehicles (EVs).

¨     Its objective is to reduce vehicular emissions and improve air quality in the National Capital Region (NCR).

¨     The scheme was approved during a Delhi Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

¨     It offers incentives such as tax exemption, registration fee waiver, interest subsidy, and manufacturer discounts.

¨     Parivartan stands for Programme for Accelerated Renewal and Incentivization of Vehicle Assets.

¨     The scheme promotes the adoption of cleaner and more fuel-efficient commercial vehicles.

¨     It encourages the use of BS-VI and electric commercial vehicles.

¨     The initiative supports sustainable transportation and helps reduce air pollution and vehicle emissions.

¨     It also aims to modernize India's commercial vehicle fleet.

Eligible Beneficiaries

¨     Owners of BS-IV or older Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs).

¨     Owners of BS-IV or older Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs).

¨     Owners of BS-IV or older Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).

¨     Owners of BS-IV or older commercial buses.
