DRDO hosted 24th Indo-US Joint Technical Group meeting on Defence Technologies

¨ DRDO hosted 24th Indo-US Joint Technical Group meeting on Defence Technologies.

¨     The 24th Indo-US Joint Technical Group Plenary Meeting was hosted by DRDO in New Delhi.

¨ On 5 February, the two-day meeting concluded with a review of ongoing cooperation in defence science and technologies.

¨     Discussions were held on challenges and proposals to strengthen collaboration in critical and emerging technologies.

¨     Focus was placed on meeting evolving defence requirements through joint research and development efforts.

¨     Greater participation of universities, defence laboratories and industries was emphasised during deliberations.

¨     The meeting was co-chaired by DRDO’s Dr Chandrika Kaushik and US official Michael Francis Dodd.

¨     Senior scientists, technocrats and officials from both countries took part in the discussions.

¨   Indian participation included officials from the Tri-Services, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs.

¨     US representatives from the Department of War and Department of State were also present.

¨  The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to deepen defence technology cooperation.
