¨  Electronics Manufacturing growth positions India as World’s Second-Largest Mobile Producer.

¨     A sharp expansion in electronics manufacturing has been witnessed in India over the past eleven years, positioning the country as the world’s second-largest mobile phone manufacturer.

¨     The growth has been attributed to policy initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, supported by targeted reforms and incentive schemes.

¨     The production value of electronic goods has increased nearly six times from ₹1.9 lakh crore in 2014–15 to ₹11.3 lakh crore in 2024–25.

¨     Electronics exports have registered over eight-fold growth during the same period, rising to approximately ₹3.3 lakh crore.

¨     Mobile phone manufacturing has recorded the most significant surge, with production increasing 28 times to ₹5.5 lakh crore.

¨     Mobile phone exports expanded even faster, growing 127 times and making India a net exporter instead of an importer.

¨     The Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing, launched in 2020, has been identified as a key driver of growth.

¨     Investments worth ₹15,172 crore and over 1.7 lakh additional jobs have been generated under the LSEM scheme by December 2025.

¨     Further support has been provided through PLI 2.0 for IT hardware, resulting in increased production and employment.

¨     Complementary initiatives such as SPECS, EMC 2.0 and the Semicon India Programme have helped establish India as a trusted global electronics manufacturing hub.
