Fatima Sana Creates Multiple Records in Women’s T20 Cricket

¨     Fatima Sana, captain of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, created multiple records in Women’s T20 International (WT20I) cricket and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup during 2024 and 2026.

¨     She became the first captain in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history to score a half-century and take three wickets in the same match.

¨     Against South Africa at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on 17 June 2026, Fatima Sana scored 55 (not out)* and claimed 3 wickets for 16 runs.

¨     Despite her all-round performance, Pakistan lost the match by two wickets in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

¨     Fatima Sana and Tuba Hassan added 71 runs for the ninth wicket against South Africa.

¨     This became the highest ninth-wicket partnership in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history.

¨     On 16 May 2026, against Zimbabwe in Karachi, Fatima Sana scored a 50 in just 15 balls, setting a new record for the fastest fifty in Women’s T20 Internationals.

¨     She remained unbeaten on 62 runs off 19 balls in that innings.

¨  The previous record for the fastest WT20I fifty (18 balls) was jointly held by Sophie Devine, Phoebe Litchfield, and Richa Ghosh.
