Former Andhra Pradesh CM Nadendla Bhaskara Rao Passes Away

  •    Former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and TDP co-founder Nadendla Bhaskara Rao passed away on 22 April 2026 in Hyderabad.
  •       He was 90 years old and was undergoing treatment for age-related ailments.

Historic Chief Ministership

  •      He served as Chief Minister in 1984 for just 31 days.
  •       He came to power during a political revolt against N.T. Rama Rao (NTR).
  •       This happened when NTR was in the United States for heart surgery.
  •       Bhaskara Rao took office with support from some TDP legislators and Congress (I).
  •       His government collapsed after a massive “Save Democracy” movement.
  •       Due to public and political pressure, NTR was reinstated as Chief Minister.

Role in Formation of TDP

  •       He was a co-founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982 along with N.T. Rama Rao.
  •       Served as Finance Minister in the first TDP government after the 1983 elections.
  •       Played a key role in the early growth of the party.

  •       Later expelled from TDP after the 1984 political crisis and conflict with NTR.
