¨     French President Emmanuel Macron invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the 52nd G7 Summit.

¨     France will preside over the G7 in 2026.

¨     The summit is scheduled to be held from 15 to 17 June 2026.

¨     The venue of the summit is Évian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, France.

¨     India is not a permanent member of the G7 and has been invited as a special guest.

¨     The G7 (Group of Seven) is an intergovernmental forum of seven advanced economies.

Its members are:

¨     Canada

¨     France

¨     Germany

¨     Italy

¨     Japan

¨     United Kingdom

¨     United States

The European Union also participates as a non-enumerated member.France will hold the G7 presidency in 2026.The presidency rotates annually among member countries.It determines the host country and agenda of the summit.The 52nd G7 Summit will be held under France’s chairmanship.The invitation was extended during President Macron’s official visit to India from 17 to 19 February 2026.During this visit, he also participated in the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit.An ad hoc India–France meeting is proposed before the G7 Summit in Évian.The meeting will discuss the international agenda and global imbalances.
